Climate change is top of the agenda on a global scale, and one of the most important strategies to slow the pace of global warming is to reduce the burning of fossil fuel and CO2 emissions.

There is a quiet expectation that Australian universities should be the vanguard in developing sustainable, innovative energy systems and solutions through their research endeavours, in the fight against global warming.

Unimutual’s Members have long been at the forefront of climate change related research and are now translating that knowledge into pragmatic and innovative energy generation and storage strategies: all part of a sector wide push toward energy independent campuses and net zero emissions.

In this article, we explore some of the extraordinary projects they are driving to produce clean energy for Australia and the world. Here is a quick overview of what our Members are doing on the renewable energy generation, storage, and research fronts.
