This form applies to the operation of all University owned and leased vehicles, including vehicles rented for University business. This checklist can be used by Fleet managers, Heads of Work Units, School/Faculty Administrators and drivers to maximise safety and vehicle reliability for members of the University community. It should be used in conjunction with existing University policy and procedures regarding vehicle purchase, fleet operations, finance and procurement, occupational safety, insurance and asset disposal.
This checklist is generic and may not be suitable for all vehicle applications. It is recommended that each vehicle manager utilising this checklist, employ modifications to ensure it is appropriate for their individual circumstances and to better identify and mitigate the risks inherent in vehicle operation.
