This form applies to the management of university special collections. Collections can include museums, archives, art collections, specimens or other significant artefacts in storage and on display. In most cases, the university is responsible for unique items which are kept in its care, custody and control. Due to their unique nature, special collections may be more vulnerable to loss during periods of storm, utility loss, fire and similar disasters.

The following checklist is designed to assist collection managers respond upon notification of a pending emergency or severe weather situation. The objective is to minimise the impact of the event on their collection, ensuring the collection is not reduced in value, significance or access as a result.
