I’m pleased to share that our renewal process is progressing well and remains firmly on track. Alongside preparations for Member renewal presentations commencing Tuesday 7 October, we’ve made strong progress in our reinsurance negotiations, hosted a successful Renewal Update Webinar, and confirmed details for our 2026 Annual Conference. We are also excited to announce the date for the opening of nominations for the 2025 Unimutual Excellence Awards – continuing our commitment to recognising outstanding contributions across our Mutual.
We remain committed to negotiating the best possible terms for our Members. Discussions with our reinsurance partners are well advanced, and we are on track for the reinsurance renewal on Wednesday 1 October. We anticipate being able to share terms with Members and Brokers from Tuesday 7 October.
In July, we hosted our annual Renewal Update Webinar, offering insights into the 2025 renewal process and potential pricing. The session featured a comprehensive market overview from Susie Amos, Principal at Finity Consulting, alongside detailed explanations of the renewal process from our Chief Underwriting Officer, Tobias Pfau and Casualty Underwriter, Jade Wahlen. If you were unable to attend, you can watch the recording and access the presentation slides here.
In the coming months we will share formal invitations for our Annual Unimutual Conference. We’re pleased to confirm the 2026 conference will be held from Wednesday 25 – Friday 27 March at the Pullman Melbourne, Albert Park. This year’s theme is ‘Collaboration, Cooperation, Connection’ and we already have an impressive speaker line-up secured.
The event will be a great opportunity to connect with fellow Members, and to introduce several new initiatives we’ll be implementing in 2026. An email invitation will be sent out following renewal in November, including program details and what to expect. Continue to save the date and stay tuned for more information!
Following a successful program in 2024, nominations for the 2025 Unimutual Excellence Awards will open on Monday 10 November. These awards provide Members, Brokers and service providers with the opportunity to be recognised for service excellence across a range of categories.
The nomination process is simple – you can nominate yourself, a colleague, a team or an organisation. Winners will be announced at the Unimutual Annual Conference in March. Download the 2025 Excellence Awards Prospectus and read further details here. We look forward to receiving your nominations.
Thank you for your continued collaboration and commitment. If you have any questions ahead of your scheduled renewal presentation, please don’t hesitate to reach out to [email protected].
Yours sincerely,
Geoff Henderson
