Dear Member,
Welcome to the December edition of the Member Matters newsletter.
As we near the end of 2022, it’s important to reflect on what we have achieved together over the past year and to celebrate those achievements. I am proud of the work undertaken by the team this year, with a focus on providing great value for our Members.
This year we rolled out a refreshed contribution pricing model, new property protection wording and a new non-modelled perils methodology. These actions continue to help us take great steps forward in our underwriting maturity for the sustainability of the Mutual.
In addition, the phase-two rollout of the Member plan process has enabled Members to get even more value from their Mutual, and initiatives like the Post Loss Claims Analysis Discussion Group have allowed the sharing of knowledge across our membership.
This time of year provides an opportunity for us to look ahead to the new year. We will no doubt continue to see the challenges of an uncertain insurance market, the unpredictability of natural disaster events, and the continued uncertainty surrounding COVID-19.
Notwithstanding the environment that we find ourselves in, I am optimistic any issues that arise can be resolved together, just like we have done this past year. We look forward to providing more opportunities in 2023 for Members to share experiences and learnings.
Thank you also to everyone who recently completed the Member Experience Survey. With a greater than 40 per cent response rate, we feel confident that the feedback we received will reflect the feelings of our Members and their Brokers. The insights from this survey will drive our strategy and plan for 2023 to ensure your Mutual meets and exceeds your needs. Early in the new year, I will provide further detail on the results of the survey and our plans to deliver further value for our Members.
Our team is looking forward to the Unimutual Conference, being held on the Gold Coast from Wednesday 8 to Friday 10 March 2023. This will be our first in-person conference since 2019 and I can’t wait to participate and have the opportunity to meet you all in person. I hope to see you all there. If you have missed any of the details on registration or not received your email invitation, please contact us at service@unimutual.com.au.
Finally, and most importantly, on behalf of the entire Unimutual team, I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy festive season. We hope you enjoy a well-deserved break and look forward to re-connecting with you all in 2023.
As always, should you need us during this period, the Unimutual team will be available to support you.
Yours sincerely,
Geoff Henderson
Chief Executive Officer
