Member Matters Issue #1, Feb 2024

Welcome to the first edition of the Member Matters newsletter for 2024.

This month’s newsletter shares many exciting upcoming items as we kick off the new year, including results from our latest Member Experience Survey, a proposed update to the Unimutual Constitution and more information about our Annual Conference next month.

Your active engagement and feedback fuel our mission to better serve you. We look forward to your continued participation and collaboration as we navigate the road ahead in 2024.

Member Experience Survey

Your participation in our recent Member Experience Survey has provided invaluable insights into how we can better serve you. The sentiment was overwhelmingly positive, with98 per cent of respondents expressing satisfaction with Unimutual and an equal percentage placing their trust in us, we’re deeply grateful for your feedback and membership. It’s pleasing to hear that our sector expertise, ease of engagement, and robust protections are valued by our Members. Furthermore, your feedback about our increased transparency reinforces our commitment to continuous improvement. We look forward to discussing these findings in detail at our conference in March.

Constitution Modernisation Proposal

Our ongoing endeavour to align with best practices and your evolving needs, means we are proposing a modernised Unimutual Constitution at the Special General Meeting on 27 March 2024. While our current constitution continues to serve your needs, a lot has changed since its adoption more than 20 years ago. Updating the constitution ensures we remain at the forefront of governance and compliance standards.

The proposed changes reflect contemporary language and governance practices, while ensuring compliance with changes to the Corporations Act (2001) and Financial Services Law. We’re hosting a webinar on Tuesday 6 February at 1pm (AEDT) for Member Representatives, to outline these changes in detail. If you wish to attend the webinar and have not received an invitation, please email us at service@unimutual.com.au.

Mark Your Calendar: Unimutual Conference 2024

Join us in Hobart from 13 to 15 March 2024 for our highly anticipated Annual Conference, as we mark 34 years of operations. From engaging speakers to interactive forums and invaluable networking opportunities, this event is not to be missed.
