Welcome to the April edition of Member Matters, keeping you informed of key updates and opportunities at Unimutual.
Thank you to all who joined us at this year’s Unimutual Conference in Adelaide.
The three days offered a chance to hear from an incredible line-up of speakers, including a special keynote address from Chief Executive Officer of Universities Australia, Luke Sheehy, along with renowned environmental scientist, explorer and author, Tim Jarvis.
We were fortunate to hear from triple Paralympic gold medallist, Katrina-Webb-Denis PLY OAM, who shared her insights on aligning purpose, high-performance and human potential to deliver personal, commercial, social and global solutions.
It was also a pleasure to welcome Joseph Hansen from the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service, who, alongside a panel of experts, explored a key emerging risk for the sector – battery charging and storage.
You can now access the key presentation videos, slides and handouts here via the Member-only section of our website.
We’ve been pleased with the engagement and feedback received on the Conference so far. To help us continue delivering events that meet your needs, we invite you to share your feedback via our Conference Survey. All conference attendees have been sent a link to the survey via email. For your ease, you can access the survey here. Your feedback is invaluable in shaping future Unimutual Conferences.
As revealed at our Conference, the new Member Dashboard is being rolled out to provide your organisation with tailored insights into your current protections.
To enable access to the dashboard, each Member organisation is asked to nominate a Pro Licence user. An email has been sent to all Member Representatives with instructions.
If your organisation hasn’t yet nominated a user, we encourage you to do so at your earliest convenience. For any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
We’re pleased to share that our new website is now live, offering easier access to our resources, tools and updates.
To explore Member-only content – including the new dashboard and Conference materials, please ensure you’ve set up your password and two-factor authentication (2FA). Instructions have been sent via email. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions or are unable to locate the instruction email.
In March, our Member Reference Group held its first meeting, providing valuable feedback and insights to help guide future initiatives. The Member Reference Group Report is available to read and download via our website within the News page of the Member-only section.
The Member Reference Group will be meeting again in June. We welcome additional participation from any Members who would like to join the group. If you’re keen to contribute, please email us at [email protected].
In May, we will be hosting two online workshops, designed to provide a helpful overview of Unimutual and our protections:
These sessions are ideal for new Members or those wanting a refresher. Invitations to register for the sessions have been sent via email. If you have any questions or need help registering, please reach out to us at [email protected]. We hope you’ll join us.
Once again, thank you to all those who participated in the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and supported the resolutions. Your engagement underscores our shared commitment to the continued success and integrity of Unimutual. If you missed the meeting or wish to revisit the discussion, you can watch the full AGM recording here.
We are pleased to share our 2024 Annual Review, showcasing our activities, financial performance, and ongoing commitment to delivering value to the higher education and research sector. You can read and download the full review within the Member-only section of our website here.
Thank you all for your ongoing commitment to Unimutual.
If you have any questions or suggestions on these regular newsletters or anything else of interest, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We always welcome feedback and are here to support you.
Warm regards,
Geoff Henderson
Chief Executive Officer
