This month, we share some important updates. This edition includes details about the 2024/25 Protection renewal, some exciting news about the Australian Service Excellence Awards, the release of our latest Member fact sheets and details on upcoming events, including some exciting updates on our 2025 Annual Conference.
Renewal Update
We continue working hard to ensure we can negotiate the best possible terms for our Members. Discussions are had well in advance with our reinsurance partners, and we are on track for a 1 October reinsurance renewal. Our expectation is that we will be able to release terms to our Members and Brokers from 7 October 2024.
We also recently hosted our annual Renewal Update Webinar to provide an indication of potential pricing. This webinar provided a great opportunity to share insights on the current market conditions and the expected pricing range for each protection. Susie Amos, Principal at Finity Consulting provided a comprehensive market overview, while Unimutual’s Tobias Pfau and Salinda Saat provided more detail about what the renewal process means for our Members. Fact Sheets
At Unimutual, we are always looking for areas where we can offer more support to our Members. We recently received feedback from Members around receiving more details about two of our Protections.
In response, we have created a fact sheet about the Fine Art, Rare Books and Collectables protection and the Active Assailant protection. These fact sheets outline the features and benefits of the protections and how our Members can get the most from the cover.

We’re Finalists
Last year, Unimutual introduced a half-year update, to provide Members a view of how their Mutual has performed in the first six months of the year, and the areas of focus as we head towards year-end. This year we will be once again sharing a half-year update with Members, which will be available in the next couple of weeks.
Unimutual strives to deliver an outstanding Member experience, and while we don’t seek recognition, it is important that we understand how our service compares across a diverse range of sectors. The Australian Service Excellence Awards (ASEA) are Australia’s premier customer service awards program, attracting hundreds of nominations each year.
We are proud to announce that Unimutual have been listed as a finalist in two categories:
- Customer Service Project of the Year – Continuous Improvement; and
- Customer Service Organisation of the Year – Small
Being a finalist for this award recognises Unimutual’s dedication to excellence and our continuous efforts to enhance the experience and value we offer to our Members.
The winners will be announced at the ASEA Gala Dinner in Melbourne, on 24 October 2024. Read more about the awards here.
